🌸 Faith in the Fire: Finding Light in a World That Feels Heavy

Hey sweet soul 💕,

If you’ve been feeling like the world is spinning a little too fast lately, you’re not alone. Between the heartbreaking assassination of Charlie Kirk, the tragic school shooting in Colorado, wars raging across Gaza and Ukraine, and the growing attacks on women’s reproductive rights through initiatives like Project 2025 it’s easy to feel overwhelmed, anxious, and even a little hopeless.

But here’s the truth: even in the darkest valleys, God walks with us. And He is not silent.

💔 When the News Feels Like Too Much

Let’s be real. Scrolling through your feed lately might feel like emotional whiplash. One moment you’re watching a cute puppy video, and the next another protest, another tragedy, another reminder that peace feels far away.

  • Charlie Kirk’s assassination shook the political world and left many grieving.
  • The Evergreen High School shooting reminded us again of the fragility of life and the urgency of protecting our children.
  • Wars in Gaza and Ukraine continue to devastate families and communities.
  • Project 2025 threatens to roll back decades of progress for women’s health and autonomy.
  • Protests from Paris to Nepal show that people everywhere are crying out for justice.

It’s a lot. And if you’ve found yourself crying in the shower, praying in your car, or just feeling numb know that your heart is responding exactly how a tender, compassionate heart should.

✨ But Here’s the Good News

God is not surprised by any of this. He sees it all. And He’s still in control.

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” – John 1:5

You were born for such a time as this. Not to carry the weight of the world, but to be a light in it. To be a woman of faith, of courage, of compassion. To pray boldly, love fiercely, and live intentionally

🌼 What You Can Do (Even When You Feel Small)

  • Pray. For leaders, victims, protestors, and even those you disagree with. Prayer is powerful.
  • Speak up. Share truth with love. Advocate for justice. Use your voice.
  • Rest. You don’t have to fix everything. Jesus already did.
  • Connect. Join a Bible study, call a friend, or simply sit with someone who’s hurting.
  • Hope. Because our hope isn’t in politics or policies it’s in a Savior who conquered death.

💖 A Gentle Reminder

You are not powerless. You are not alone. You are a daughter of the King, and your presence in this world matters.

So wear your sunflower earrings, sip your oat milk latte, and keep showing up with grace. Let your faith be louder than your fear. Let your love be stronger than the hate. And let your life be a reflection of the One who makes beauty from ashes.

With love, light, and a whole lot of Jesus,

I’m Brittney

I am a 36-year-old survivor, artist, writer, and advocate who has walked through some of life’s darkest valleys and emerged with a radiant, unshakeable faith. Having endured childhood sexual trauma, decades of domestic violence, temporary paralysis, a coma, memory loss, and the heartbreaking loss of custody of my children as the result. I have had to rebuild my life piece by piece, hand in hand with the Lord. I have had to trust Him to protect, heal and reunite my family. I have had to trust Him to put me back together and turn my trauma into a testimony that honors Him and helps women who are where I have been. Now a two-time cancer and heart failure survivor, I use my story to illuminate hope for others, reminding women that God is still a God of miracles, restoration, and new beginnings. Through my blog, I combine faith, creativity, and lived experience to uplift survivors of abuse, helping them rediscover gratitude, reclaim their identity, and step boldly into the healing God has promised.
